Experience

My expertise in the IT industry can be evidenced by my work experience.

My experience has grown my skill base, and allowed me to work in a diverse range of industries and localities.

Image
Support Engineer CorpCloud

August 2019 ─ June 2021

During the duration of my employment, I was delegated several fields of work including office administration, configuring and provisioning Cisco networking gear for deployment to clients’ sites. Another aspect of the role was working as support to outsourced clients. The role included configuring and fixing Microsoft, Android, and Apple devices. I also travelled to clients’ sites and helped with in house IT support. I gained extensive experience in the support and customer service role.

Image
Software Developer Ascend Health Group

May 2020 ─ April 2021

The initial scope of my role at Ascend Health Group encompassed a project benefiting members and support workers. This involved a unique system to document members’ project notes, and a calendar linked to their website. I was able to build both web and mobile apps with Ruby on Rails, and React Native. This provided unique contact to support workers and allowed me to understand needs, in order to provide a suitable solution. Ultimately, the support workers were provided autonomy and efficiencies as a result of the project I delivered.

Trainee Network Technician Enterprise Wireless

May 2019 ─ May 2019

This role was in situ at Agnew Gold Mine in Leinster. In the time, I outfitted the workers’ accommodation with telephones, satellite televisions, strong internet, and installed fibre optic cables to the accommodation. The work was both rewarding and a learning experience given the reliance of the successful implementation of the work in my role, to the operation of the mine. The remote team environment provided support and camaraderie, which I have since been able to replicate in later roles.

Volunteering

My volunteering experience has broadened my capacity for service.

My volunteering has assisted with growing my community service skills and have allowed me to work within industries not usually encountered.

Gardener Chrous

July 2021 ─ July 2021

Chorus volunteers work alongside team members, seniors, those living with disability or on the mental health recovery journey. Volunteers can help with gardening, home maintenance, driving, meal delivery, outings, wellness programs, home visits and shopping. Many customers are socially isolated and volunteering helps people connect in the community. When volunteering, it was possible to meet like-minded people, form new friendships, challenge myself, learn new skills and to make a noticeable difference to someone else’s life.

Being an Event Health Officer I have developed my communication and clinical first aid skills, as well as build confidence by allowing myself to engage with a wide variety of people by bringing lifesaving skills to the community. Being part of a large volunteer team greatly helps me connect with other likeminded volunteers in the Perth area. I form part of the St John Ambulance Event Health Services team at thousands of public events annually, making a difference to people’s lives.

Nicolas Pismiris has worked for CorpCloud in a casual capacity since 2019. For the majority of this time he was studying and so only able to work for us part time (with short full-time periods). I was Nic’s direct supervisor. Over this time, Nic has shown his flexibility by assisting in whatever capacity was required. Some of the diverse tasks he has assisted with include: IT clean-ups, secure wiping and e-waste sorting, device provisioning, project roll-out assistance and service desk support.

Nic is an outgoing and lively team member who always worked well with others and brought a sense of energy to the team.

Nic is keen to learn and not afraid of a challenge. I would happily recommend Nic for any IT role where he can develop his IT skills and knowledge further.

I was on the Brew ‘N’ Que festival with Nic yesterday and was really impressed with the energy Nic brought to the team. Nic’s positive and outgoing personality was an instrumental part of why we connected so well with all the patrons and staff at the event. Nic’s ability to adapt and individualise his communication style to each person on the day was impressive and whilst we had no clinical interactions during the event, there were many people who stopped by the first aid post and left smiling and laughing as a direct result of Nic. I feel Nic had completely aced the art of building quick individualised rapport with everyone he interacted with whilst remaining professional and portraying Event Health Services as an approachable positive addition to the festival.

I have met many people in EHS since starting as a volunteer around 3.5 years ago who have brought some great attributes to the team, however Nic has stood out for me so far, I know I have personally taken a lot from his attitude and communication styles which will hopefully improve the way I communicate with people in my personal and professional life going forward.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Nic for just over 1 year at St John Ambulance WA. I am the Event Health Services (EHS) Volunteer Coordinator and Nic has been an active volunteer Event Health Officer since 23 June 2021. He is also our Volunteer Resource Manager (VRM) at the Western Suburbs depot. Nic was our obvious choice in this role as he is a natural leader, approachable, talks and listens, is positive, warm, funny, engaging and will always go that 'extra mile'.
Nic constantly provides a high level of customer care at all events and is a proud ambassador for EHS and St John. He has volunteered over 200 hours at events and division, providing excellent medical support at community and public events. Nic attends training sessions regularly ensuring his clinical skills are maintained in line with St John Clinical Practice Guidelines and is a fantastic leader and team member.
As a VRM, Nic leads and attends numerous meetings, provides support to his fellow volunteers and managers, and ensures that his division has sufficient resources for training, events, and volunteer engagement. He plans and coordinates maintenance nights, ensures all documentation is completed and returned to the EHS office and manages the divisions finances.
Nic constantly ensures the safety and well-being of himself and others at division, events and in the vehicles. He has created an app to address safety and stock issues with QR codes, allowing volunteers to easily log and address issues in real time. He has also ensured his fellow managers and Volunteer Development Officers access an efficient and effective app when sharing meeting and education notes and requirements. These initiatives came from his enthusiasm, drive and problem-solving ability, and we are incredibly impressed and hope to utilise further in the entire EHS.
I would recommend Nic for any course or position that he strives towards and am constantly inspired and impressed with his character, ethics, rapport with others, dedication, determination, and skills. His engaging and happy personality is infectious, and I wish him all the very best in his future.

~ Allison Rayner, EHS Volunteer Coordinator St John Ambulance WA
